JD IT Projects Cutover Lead
The IT Project Cutover Lead is a role responsible for managing and overseeing the cutover phase of an IT delivery and project. The cutover phase refers to the period when the old IT systems or services are migrated or replaced with new systems or services. The role is to ensure that all the necessary due diligence has taken place and all agreed criteria has been met before the service can be transitioned.
As the IT Projects Cutover Lead, some of your key responsibilities include:
1. Planning and coordination: You will develop a detailed cutover plan, outlining all the activities, dependencies, and timelines for the hand over and transition. This involves coordinating with various stakeholders, such as project managers, technical teams, and business users, to ensure a smooth handholding.
2. Risk management: You will identify potential risks and issues that may arise during the cutover process and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact. This includes conducting risk assessments, establishing contingency plans, and ensuring proper communication channels are in place.
3. Stakeholder management: You will engage with stakeholders at different levels, including project sponsors, business owners, and end-users. You will provide regular updates on the cutover progress, address concerns or questions, and ensure their requirements are met.
4. Testing and validation: You will oversee the testing and validation of the new systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and meet the specified requirements. This involves coordinating with the testing teams, facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT), and resolving any issues that may arise.
5. Methodology: You will develop and follow a methodology and framework for cutover which has a gates process with relevant checkpoints. This needs to include their entry and exit criteria.
6. Communication: Effective communication is crucial during the cutover phase. You will develop a communication plan and keep stakeholders informed about the cutover schedule, progress, and any changes or issues that may impact the project. Clear and timely communication helps manage expectations and minimize disruptions.
7. Execution and monitoring: You will lead the execution of the cutover plan, coordinating activities across different teams and departments and ensuring adherence to the schedule. Throughout the cutover process, you will closely monitor the progress, track key metrics, and address any deviations or bottlenecks promptly.
8. Post-cutover activities: Once the cutover is complete, you will perform post-cutover activities, such as conducting a post-implementation review, documenting lessons learned, and addressing any outstanding issues or user concerns.
9. Lessons Learned: you will identify and document any lessons learned so that they can be incorporated into future cutover
10. Planning: you will have a detailed Cutover plan with key milestones. These plans will be shared with the Leadership team and you will be expected to provide regular updates on progress
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration).
• Proven experience in successfully cutting over services and systems.
• Strong knowledge of cutover methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong risk management problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Able to be flexible to changing demands
• Able to work under pressure with fluid plans
