Job Title: Principal Engineer

Duration: 6 Months Extendable

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

 

Job Brief:

Generic Accountability

• Manage the complete lifecycle of the LPM application, from design and development to deployment, support and upgrades
• Continuously assess and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of the application
• Identify, evaluate, and integrate new technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance the application’s functionality and maintain its competitiveness in the market
• Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, and key stakeholders to understand business goals, define product vision, and ensure that technical roadmaps align with strategic objectives.
• Champion Agile and DevOps methodologies and processes within the team, ensuring that development cycles are iterative and business-driven
• Plan, organize, coordinate, assign, and monitor all aspects of a technical team, and redirect efforts as needed to meet operational and project requirements

 

Specific Accountability

• Act as the primary owner and subject matter expert for Corporate & syndicated lending applications, overseeing system functionality, upgrades, integrations, and overall performance.
• Collaborate with business leaders to understand the goals and translate them into technical requirements and system features.
• Lead initiatives related to system enhancements or new implementation.
• Monitor the performance of the Loan Portfolio management application/other lending applications and ensuring system reliability, data accuracy and user satisfaction. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, evaluate new technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance service offering.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements, automation, and efficiency gains to continually improve service quality and performance.
• Ensure that the application adheres to data security standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Leverage strong technical background to make informed decisions, troubleshoot complex issues and guide technical teams effectively.
• Oversight on Demand Management & Release Milestones
• Ensure risks / technology vulnerabilities identified are managed as per IT risk management process
• Define, monitor and manage SLAs to meet or exceed performance expectations.
• Managing and coordinating cross-services deliveries. Work closely with technical teams, product managers and other stakeholders to drive collaboration and ensure seamless service delivery.
• Shaping the right Agile culture, mindset and maturity
• Provides guidance and extensive support for Service Delivery activation and gradual Agile transformation

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of experience in software development with proven track record in developing and supporting corporate lending or loan portfolio management solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks and strong knowledge of database technologies
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and microservices architecture
• Proficient in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization
• Certifications in cloud technologies, Agile, or PMP are advantageous
• Familiarity with financial systems, regulatory compliance, and security best practices
• Proven track record of successfully managing and improving IT services.
• Problem solving and analytical thinking with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
